2023 INQUA Travel Fellowships for US Early Career Scientists

The U.S. National Committee for Quaternary Research (USNC/INQUA), a committee of the National Academy of Sciences that represents all U.S. Quaternary scientists to the International Union for Quaternary Research (INQUA), announces the 2023 U.S. INQUA Congress Travel Fellowship Program. This program is intended for graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, and early career faculty at U.S. institutions who are attending the 21st INQUA Congress to be held on July 14-20, 2022, in Rome, Italy. Funding for this program is pending. The website of the Congress is https://inquaroma2023.org/.

Applicants must be first authors of a paper to be presented at the Congress (oral or poster) in any area of Quaternary science and related fields, and U.S. citizens or permanent residents enrolled at a U.S. institution. Applicants need to be graduate students or early-career scientists within seven years of receiving their Ph.D. While the USNC/INQUA seeks to support all U.S. Quaternary early career scientists, we particularly encourage applications from members of groups historically excluded from STEM disciplines.

Each fellowship provided under this program will cover up to $2,000 of the costs of the awardee’s participation in the INQUA Congress. In addition, the USNC/INQUA will set up a mentoring program for the successful applicants.

To apply for a travel fellowship, applicants are requested to complete an online application requesting, among other items, the title, authors, and abstract of the paper to be presented at the INQUA Congress. Also required are (1) an outline of your financial plan for attending the meeting (including other sources of funding available), and (2) a two-page résumé.

Please submit your application materials online at http://s.alchemer.com/s3/141a8f03e3a5
