AMQUA Abstracts Go Electronic
As for previous AMQUA meetings, the abstract volume for the 15th Biennial Meeting will be produced in printed form to be available at the meeting and sent to all AMQUA members. In addition, John Matthews (Ohana Productions) will produce an electronic version (Acrobat pdf file) of the abstracts. This will allow dissemination of the Abstract Volume to a wider audience. It also affords new opportunities for authors to update and expand their abstracts through links to presentations on their personal web pages. This is an exciting new approach to efficient and creative delivery of information.

Please refer to the following page of this newsletter for information on submitting the digital version of your abstract.

Check the AMQUA web page at: http://www.usu.edu/~amqua for updates on the Biennial Meeting.

New AMQUA Membership Dues

Please check the mailing label on this newsletter for the year through which your dues are paid. If it is 97 or less, you are now in arrears. Please send your dues with the notice inserted in this newsletter to me with all the information completed and a check or a credit card number. Be careful writing your e-mail address because it is sometimes difficult to decipher.

Because we have more than 1100 members, paying your dues three or more years at a time reduces the work and expense of sending out notices each year. The Council has voted to keep the dues for professionals constant and reasonable $8/year for those who pay at least 3 years at a time. The dues will be $10/year for those who pay in amounts less than $24. There will be a 5% surcharge added to dues paid by credit card, that is $25.20 for three year's dues. This is approximately the amount it costs the association for the credit card transaction. Dues for students will remain $4/year or $12 for three years if paying by credit card.

Anyone wishing to donate to the Denise Gaudreau Scholarship fund, please add the amount to your dues payment and note the amount to go to the fund.

Thank you for your help and consideration. Margaret J. Guccione, Geology Department OZAR-118, University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, AR 72701; 501-575-3354; fax: -3846; guccione@comp.uark.edu
