Text Box: AMQUA IS NOW AN "ASSOCIATED SOCIETY" OF  GSA   The Geological Society of America board has officially recognized AMQUA as an "associated society" of GSA.  The potential advantages of our new affiliation are (1) greater visibility for AMQUA to a broad range of natural science societies and scientists, (2) gaining new AMQUA members from the GSA membership, (3) co-sponsoring technical sessions and field trips at GSA meetings and, (4) increased interaction between AMQUA and other associated societies. Examples include the American Association of Stratigraphic Palynologists, the Association of Engineering Geologists, the Association for Women Geoscientists, the Geochemical Society, the National Ground Water Association, the Paleontological Society, and the National Association of Geoscience Teachers.  Many thanks to Vance Holliday, former president of AMQUA, for suggesting this affiliation.
