Text Box: Distinguished Career Awards
.

Text Box: Nominations are being solicited for the 2003 and 2004 AMQUA Distinguished Career Awards.  The award recognizes a Quaternary scientist who has contributed significantly and continuously to the advancement of Quaternary science in any discipline.  This award is the highest one made by AMQUA and truly honors someone with a lifetime commitment to Quaternary science.  We encourage everyone to consider and nominate those senior scientists who have contributed significantly to their field.  The award is for scientists who have worked on North American Quaternary issues for a substantial part of their career. The nominee must be alive at the time of nomination and does not have to be a member of AMQUA.  The winner of the award will receive a bronze sculpture and recognition at the next biennial meeting, in addition to publication in The Quaternary Times.  To nominate a scientist, please send a letter outlining why the nominee is qualified for the Distinguished Career Award and forward his/her current CV.  All nominees are retained as candidates for five years.  Please send your nominations by January 1, 2004 to Dan Muhs at: U.S. Geological Survey, MS980, Box 25046, Federal Center, Denver, CO 80205; dmuhs@usgs.gov.
